Title:  The Circumstances Behind This Situation Are Incredibly Sad and Tragic.
Description:  At the direction of RTC, A447 is stopped in Stroebe Siding on the Fox River Sub. Rail traffic in Appleton was stopped in the afternoon of May 20th for the funeral of an Appleton firefighter. Driver/Engineer Mitch Lundgaard was tragically shot and killed while responding to a medical call with the Appleton Fire Department. On this Monday, the procession to Appleton Alliance Church crossed the railroad and CN halted all rail traffic. Later in the evening, a procession from the church consisted of over 200 police, fire, EMS, first responder vehicles from all across Wisconsin and surrounding states. It was a very sad and moving sight.

Title:  CN 2846 Pushes From the Back
Description:  This southbound intermodal train was slowing down as it approached the Winnebago Siding, north of Oshkosh. CN RTC ordered the train to stop in the very unusual spot of Winnebago as there was police activity in Oshkosh that must have fouled the main line. However, the situation was resolved before the train came to a complete stop and was able to continue uninterrupted into Oshkosh.

Description:  One reason I like Medina Junction so much is the long, but mostly forgotten history of the former town. In this shot, one can see an old telephone pole laying in the grass. For years, these poles lined the railroad right of way. Im unsure of when they were installed but they were removed by CN around 2013.

Description:  The title says it all. I really like potash trains. On the CN, potash unit trains typically receive a "B7XX" designation. A typical loaded B train is almost always southbound in Wisconsin and has two units leading with one on the rear as DPU.

Description:  After a couple southbound trains passed, I heard a locomotive pull up into Anton Siding. I drove over to Shaky Lake Road to see the waiting northbound. I didnt end up seeing it leave as I drove back into Appleton to meet a friend to continue the day of railfanning.
